The quarter-final draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 has been confirmed, setting up a series of high-profile clashes following the conclusion of the Round of 16 matches on Tuesday.
Nigeria will face Algeria in one of the standout fixtures of the last eight, while defending champions Côte d’Ivoire have been drawn against Egypt in another heavyweight encounter.
The draw was finalised after Algeria edged DR Congo 1–0 after extra time in Rabat, with substitute Anis Boulbina scoring the decisive goal in the 119th minute to book the Desert Foxes’ place in the quarter-finals.

Nigeria had earlier secured qualification on Monday night with a commanding 4–0 victory over Mozambique. Victor Osimhen scored twice as the Super Eagles delivered a dominant performance to progress comfortably.
Senegal, Mali, hosts Morocco, Cameroon and Egypt had already booked their places in the quarter-finals before Tuesday’s matches, leaving the final pairings to be confirmed at the end of the Round of 16.
Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire completed the quarter-final line-up later on Tuesday with a convincing 3–0 win over Burkina Faso in Marrakesh. Goals from Amad Diallo, Yan Diomandé and Bamba Touré underlined the Elephants’ intent as they continue their bid for a second consecutive AFCON title.
With the draw now confirmed, attention turns to the quarter-final fixtures scheduled for Friday, January 9, and Saturday, January 10, across venues in Tangier, Rabat, Agadir and Marrakesh.
