The National Assembly has postponed the resumption of plenary earlier scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, shifting the date to Thursday, March 5.
In a notice issued to Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, explained that the adjustment was necessary to enable various committees of the legislature to conclude ongoing budget defence sessions.
According to the statement, plenary will now reconvene simultaneously in both chambers at 11:00 a.m. on the new date.
Members of the Senate of Nigeria and the House of Representatives of Nigeria have been urged to take note of the revised schedule and make the necessary arrangements.
The leadership of the Assembly expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may have caused, assuring lawmakers that the shift is aimed at ensuring thorough legislative consideration of the 2026 budget proposals currently before the committees.
