Oborevwori, Osunbor, Dafinone to attend TNG editor’s book launch 

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, former Edo State Governor, Oserheimen Osunbor, and Senator Ede Dafinone are among dignitaries expected at the public presentation of a book authored by the Editor of TheNewsGuru, Ediri Oyibo.

 

The organisers disclosed this in a statement on Monday, noting that the book titled “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” will be unveiled on April 30, 2026, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat, Utako, Abuja.

 

According to the organisers, Oborevwori will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while Osunbor is billed to chair the occasion.

 

They added that the book would be reviewed by media practitioner, Lemmy Ughegbe.

 

The statement further noted that the event would feature a presentation of research findings by the author on the state of journalism in Nigeria, with emphasis on challenges confronting journalists in the Federal Capital Territory.

 

Other expected dignitaries include Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Senator Ned Nwoko, and a member of the House of Representatives, Benedict Etanabene.

 

Also listed are Publisher of TheNewsGuru, Mideno Bayagbon; Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council, Dili Ezughah; Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Aminu Maida; and National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahya Abdul, among others.

 

The organisers said the book examines the transformation of journalism in the digital era, focusing on media ethics, innovation, sustainability, and the evolving role of journalists.

 

They added that the event is expected to attract journalists, media entrepreneurs, academics, policymakers, students, and members of the public.
