…Defeats rivals in peaceful primary, gets party nod ahead of 2027 elections
Hon. Sanya Omirin has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary for Atakunmosa East/West–Ilesa East/West Federal Constituency of Osun State, securing the party’s ticket for a second term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The primary election, which recorded strong participation from accredited delegates and party stakeholders across the constituency, ended with Omirin clinching the mandate to fly the APC flag in the forthcoming National Assembly election.
Party officials, who announced the result after voting and collation, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and consistent with the internal democratic standards of the party.
“The process was orderly and reflects the will of the delegates,” a party official said, commending the level of discipline displayed during the exercise.
With the outcome, Omirin is now officially confirmed as the APC candidate for the federal constituency, positioning him to seek another term in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
Political stakeholders and supporters across the constituency have since welcomed his victory, describing it as a vote of confidence in his legislative performance and grassroots engagement.
“His emergence is a reflection of trust built over time through effective representation and accessibility,” a supporter noted.
Observers say the result further consolidates Omirin’s influence within the APC structure in Osun State as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Following the announcement, jubilant supporters trooped out in celebration across parts of the constituency, describing the victory as a major boost for the party’s chances in the forthcoming polls.
Party leaders also expressed optimism that internal unity and cohesion would be sustained ahead of the general election season.
