The Albiceleste, traditionally known for their iconic white and sky-blue striped jerseys, are turning to history in a bid to gain a psychological edge over their opponents.
The navy blue kit holds significant historical value, having been worn by the late Diego Maradona during past encounters with England. Argentina also donned the same colour when they knocked England out of the 1998 World Cup.
In an official Match Colour Designation release issued on Monday, FIFA confirmed that Lionel Messi and his teammates have been granted permission to wear their second-choice strip. The outfit will be complemented by white shorts and red socks.
England, on the other hand, will feature in their traditional white kit for the semi-final showdown.
