The Independent National Electoral Commission has published the final list of presidential candidates and their running mates for the January 2027 general elections.
The list, released in a statement on Saturday by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, contains candidates sponsored by 18 political parties.
According to the commission, 16 of the presidential candidates are male, while two are female.
The two female presidential candidates are Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the National Democratic Party and Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement.
INEC also listed 14 male and four female vice-presidential candidates.
The commission’s final list shows President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress contesting with Vice-President Kashim Shettima, while former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, with former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as his running mate.
The Labour Party fielded Sunday Chibuzo Okereke and Hajja Bintu Konto, while the Peoples Democratic Party is represented by Sandy Ojang Onor and Umaru Babangida.
The New Democratic Congress listed former Anambra State Governor, Peter Gregory Obi, as its presidential candidate, with Musa Mohammed Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
