HallowMace Africa has announced the results of the first stage of voting for its July 2026 National Legislative Awards, unveiling a comprehensive list of nominated federal lawmakers across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones and the Federal Capital Territory.
The organisation said the nominees emerged after what it described as an intensive voting process involving Nigerians and members of the National Assembly Press Corps, who assessed lawmakers based on legislative impact, constituency representation, and service delivery.
Among those nominated are prominent figures such as Godswill Akpabio, Adams Oshiomhole, Ned Nwoko, and Ahmad Lawan, alongside several members of the House of Representatives including Benjamin Kalu and Julius Ihonvbere.
A breakdown of the nominees shows representation from all states, with lawmakers selected from the Senate and House of Representatives in each geo-political zone, reflecting what the organisers described as “the pinnacle of legislative performance nationwide.”
Speaking on the development, the Executive Director of HallowMace Africa, Anderson Osiebe, said the level of participation in the first phase highlights growing public interest in governance and accountability.
“The massive participation we witnessed in the first stage is a testament to the growing interest of Nigerians in legislative accountability,” Osiebe said. “As we proceed to the next stage, we urge the public to remain engaged. We are committed to a transparent process that celebrates the lawmakers who truly exemplify service to the people.”
He explained that the awards process will now move into a second stage where nominees will be pruned to three finalists per geo-political zone.
According to him, the final stage will determine one Most Outstanding Senator and one Most Outstanding member of the House of Representatives from each zone.
The organisation added that voting for the second phase has commenced and will run until April 14, 2026.
HallowMace Africa noted that the awards are being organised in partnership with the International Goodwill Ambassador Club, ERGAF Africa, and the Isabella Ayuk Foundation, among others.
The National Legislative Awards, according to the organisers, aim to promote democratic values, legislative excellence, and civic engagement across Africa.
