…Hon Yemi Itodo Facilitates with Agada on his Appointment as Clerk of The Senate

The National Assembly Service Commission has appointed Mr. Rawlins Emmanuel Agada as the Clerk of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Mr. Agada has served in various capacities since joining the National Assembly, including representing Nigeria in the Permanent Secretariat Desk of the Pan African Parliament in South Africa and participating in the Legislative Business of both the regional Parliament and Interparliamentary Union in Geneva, Switzerland. He also served as President of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) at the National Assembly.
In May 2019, Mr. Agada was appointed Director, Information and Research, National Assembly, where he oversaw the digitization of proceedings in the Chambers, recalibration of the accreditation process for National Assembly Correspondents, and inauguration of National Assembly New Media, among other initiatives. His impressive work in this role led to his appointment as Deputy Clerk (Admin) of the House of Representatives in June 2023, and later, Deputy Clerk (Admin) of the Nigerian Senate.
Mr. Agada’s recent elevation to Deputy Clerk (Legislative) of the Senate was a precursor to his current appointment as Clerk of the Senate. In this position, he will continue to provide cognitive expertise and guidance to the Red Chamber and the National Assembly.
The Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yemi Itodo, congratulated Mr. Agada on his appointment, describing him as “an enigmatic perfect gentleman, quintessential, in all ramifications.”
Hon. Itodo described the appointment of Mr. Agada as a testament to exceptional legislative expertise and dedication to public service.
“As a native of Ipari Otukpa, in Ai-Oodo, Otukpa, Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State, Mr. Agada’s elevation to this position is a source of pride for the people of Benue State”, he said.
He also said, the appointment of Mr. Agada as Clerk of the Senate is a historic moment for the people of Benue State, who have been disadvantaged by geography and demography in national and subnational arrangements.
Hon. Itodo noted, “This means a lot to us, as a people disadvantaged by geography and demography in our current setting in the national and Subnational arrangements. We celebrate this feat that has never been attained by any of us in the past.”
