The Honourable Member representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace,In a major boost to education in Zamfara State, has successfully completed the renovation of six classroom blocks at Government Girls Day Secondary School, Gusau, and awarded full scholarships to 250 students from his constituency.
The initiative, executed under his constituency intervention programme, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and expand educational opportunities for young people in Gusau and Tsafe.
During an inspection of the upgraded facilities, Hon. Mai Palace reaffirmed his commitment to educational development in the region, stating:
“Education remains one of the most effective tools for transformation. By improving school infrastructure, we are creating opportunities for students to thrive academically and socially.”
The renovation work covered roofing repairs, repainting, installation of new windows and doors, and the provision of desks and chairs to enhance comfort and functionality for both students and teachers.
Speaking of the scholarship award, the lawmaker said, “We have fully paid the school fees for 250 students across Gusau and Tsafe. No child should be left behind due to lack of basic infrastructure or inability to afford education.”
School management, staff, and students expressed their gratitude, describing the refurbished classrooms and scholarship programme as a “lifeline” that will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes in the school.
Hon. Mai Palace pledged to continue prioritizing education alongside other critical sectors in his constituency, adding that investing in the next generation is key to building a sustainable future for Zamfara State.
