Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly his focus on investing in security and technology.
The senator made these remarks In an interview with journalists shortly after the special joint session of the National Assembly to mark Democracy Day, on Thursday, “I think he talked about investment of money, the infrastructure for security, technology, and that’s what we’re talking about last time”

“The President spoke about channeling funds into infrastructure, security, and technology. Security will no longer depend solely on manpower, but on technology.” He noted.
The Senator Ibrahim expressed optimism about the country’s economic growth, citing the President’s efforts to increase oil production and GDP growth. “We are able to achieve 1.8 million barrel… To achieve 1.8 billion barrel a day in meeting our first quarter for the first time. I think this is very, very commendable, and GDP has grown from by 3.6%.”
Ibrahim also commended the President’s decision to confer national honors on deserving individuals, saying, “It’s very good to have a constitutional honor I’ve been honored twice by two different presidents. It’s a real privilege…The kind of people that are honored, they really deserve it.”
However, Ibrahim had a nuanced view on the naming of the INEC building after a former Chairman, saying, “You cannot name INEC after offering worship… Give him a national honor.”
On the issue of defections, Ibrahim noted that change is inevitable and permanent in human affairs, saying, , “A year ago, people said no one would join APC, but today, people are defecting. The only thing that permanent human assistance is change. Any human being that refuses to change is a dead person, People change marriages, religions, homes, why not political affiliations?”
Ibrahim also lauded the President’s collaborative and liberal approach to governance, describing it as crucial for democratic stability across Africa. “President Tinubu’s leadership is gaining ground among African leaders. His liberal, cooperative style promotes democratic peace.”
