The House of Representatives will resume plenary on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, reversing its earlier resolution to adjourn sittings until next week Tuesday.
The change in schedule follows what officials described as “positive developments” from ongoing engagements and interventions by various levels of government regarding the issues that prompted the initial adjournment. These include concerns raised by contractors over unpaid debts and the non-release of funds under the 2024/2025 budget.
In an internal memorandum issued Tuesday evening, the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., informed Members of the decision to reconvene earlier than planned.
According to the notice, the early resumption will allow the Leadership of the House to brief Members on progress made in resolving the contractors’ agitations and other related national matters.
During Wednesday’s plenary, the House is expected to formally rescind its earlier adjournment resolution to enable proceedings to continue.
The Leadership of the House also urged all Honourable Members to make necessary arrangements to be in attendance.
