President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of tenure for the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Kachallom Shangti Daju, alongside two other Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
The others are Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice, and Mary Ada Ogbe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Eno Olotu, the renewal will take effect from April 27, 2026.
The statement noted that the approval grants the officials a second and final tenure of four years, in line with Public Service Rule 020909, which permits Permanent Secretaries to serve an initial four-year term with eligibility for another four-year term, subject to satisfactory performance.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, while congratulating the officials on their reappointment, urged them to see the renewed mandate as a call to greater commitment to public service.
She said, “They should view the renewed mandate as a call to heightened dedication and excellence in service delivery.”
Walson-Jack further charged the Permanent Secretaries to leverage their experience and professional expertise in the effective discharge of their duties.
She added, “They should bring their vast experience and professional expertise to bear in the effective discharge of their duties for the benefit of the nation.”
