NYC Honours NSITF Board Chair Olofin, Seeks Stronger Youth Partnership

The Nigerian Youth Congress on Thursday strengthened its collaboration with Shola Olofin, Chairman of the Management Board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, with a courtesy visit and award presentation in Abuja.

The youth body presented Olofin with a Partnership Award in recognition of his contributions to workers’ welfare, youth empowerment and national development.

Speaking during the visit, NYC President, Annum Jethro, said the engagement underscored the importance of collaboration between youth-focused organisations and key government institutions.

He said, “This partnership reflects our shared vision of empowering young people, promoting decent work, and building a more secure and prosperous nation.”

Jethro added that the award symbolised not only appreciation but also a renewed commitment to deepen cooperation aimed at expanding opportunities for Nigerian youths.

Responding, Olofin expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that youth development remains critical to national progress.

“I appreciate this honour and reaffirm my commitment to supporting youth-centred initiatives, policies, and programmes that will enhance employment, welfare, and leadership opportunities for young Nigerians,” he said.

The visit ended with both parties pledging to strengthen collaboration in areas of youth empowerment, social protection, and sustainable development.
