The member representing Moba/Ilejemeje/Ido-Osi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, , has recorded a notable political showing after mobilising over 500 votes for President during the All Progressives Congress presidential primary held in Igogo Ward 2, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The result has drawn reactions from party members and stakeholders, who described the outcome as a reflection of Akinlayo’s strong grassroots network and sustained influence within the party structure.
Leaders within the said the voting strength recorded in the ward demonstrated the lawmaker’s capacity to effectively mobilise party faithful and maintain cohesion among delegates at the grassroots level.
A party source said, “What we saw in Igogo Ward 2 shows that Hon. Akinlayo still commands significant support among APC members. Mobilising over 500 votes at that level is not a small feat.”
Akinlayo, a member of the 10th National Assembly, has remained active in the APC political structure in Ekiti State, particularly within Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, where he continues to play a key role in party organisation and mobilisation.
Supporters of the lawmaker said the outcome also reflects growing acceptance of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda among APC members in the area, especially at the grassroots level.
Another party member noted, “The turnout shows that the Renewed Hope message is gaining ground here. The mobilisation speaks for itself.”
Party members also commended the peaceful conduct of the primary election, describing the process as orderly and well-participated by delegates.
Political observers say the development could further strengthen Akinlayo’s standing within the APC ahead of future political contests, noting that sustained grassroots mobilisation remains a key factor in party influence and internal politics in Ekiti State.
