The Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund have commissioned a new State Police Command Headquarters in Taraba State alongside a modern Divisional Police Headquarters in Yorro Local Government Area.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, Morkwap Sebastine Dongshal, joined the Executive Secretary of the Trust Fund, Mohammed Sheidu, and the Taraba State Government at the commissioning ceremony.
Speaking on behalf of the IGP, Dongshal expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Trust Fund for their sustained commitment to strengthening the operational capacity of the police.
He said, “The projects are in line with the IGP’s people-centred policing vision, particularly the emphasis on improved welfare, modern infrastructure, and a conducive working environment for officers and men of the Force.”
Also speaking, Sheidu reaffirmed the Trust Fund’s commitment to supporting the police through the provision of modern infrastructure and critical resources necessary for effective policing.
He said, “The newly commissioned facilities underscore the Federal Government’s dedication to strengthening internal security and enhancing the capacity of the Police to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities.”
Sheidu added that the Trust Fund would continue to partner with the police in advancing initiatives aimed at improving welfare, operational efficiency, and service delivery nationwide.
The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, who was represented by retired Commissioner of Police, Cyril Agbe, commended the Federal Government and the Trust Fund for what he described as a laudable intervention.
He noted that the projects represent critical investments in the security and development of the state.
The police reiterated their commitment to leveraging strategic partnerships to enhance operational effectiveness, improve personnel welfare, and ensure quality policing services across the country.
