The National Assembly Service Commission has appointed Mrs Edith Ajah Onyinyechi as Deputy Clerk, Senate (Administration), effective September 23, 2026.
The appointment was approved at the commission’s 33rd meeting held on Tuesday, September 23, 2026.
Onyinyechi, who was until her appointment a Director (Legislative) in the Senate, is expected to bring her experience in legislative and administrative matters to her new role.
In a statement signed by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, the National Assembly said Onyinyechi joined the service on February 25, 1999, as a Statistician II.
She subsequently rose through the ranks, holding various positions of increasing responsibility before her appointment as Deputy Clerk.
The management said her appointment was informed by her hard work, administrative competence, dedication to duty and wealth of experience.
It also described her career progression as reflecting her experience and competence in legislative and administrative matters.
The National Assembly Management congratulated Onyinyechi on her appointment and wished her success in her new responsibilities.
