The All Progressives Congress candidate for Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency, Jonathan Ukodhiko, has clinched the party’s ticket following the just concluded primary election.
Ukodhiko, who emerged winner of the exercise, described his victory as a collective mandate, calling on party members and other aspirants to unite ahead of the general elections.
In a statement on Sunday, the APC candidate expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
He said, “My heart is filled with profound gratitude to Almighty God and to every one of you for the confidence and overwhelming support you have shown me following my emergence as the candidate of our great party.”
Ukodhiko also commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his leadership and support, noting that his commitment to unity and inclusiveness had strengthened the party in the state.
He said, “Your commitment to peace, progress, and inclusiveness continues to inspire us all.”
The APC flag bearer further appreciated party leaders across Delta State and the Isoko nation for their support, prayers, and guidance, which he said made his emergence possible.
Describing the victory as one for the entire APC family, Ukodhiko said it also belonged to the people of the constituency and all those committed to its development.
“This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to all APC faithful, our constituency, and every individual who believes in the progress and development of our people,” he stated.
He assured constituents of his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy through purposeful representation, youth and women empowerment, and the attraction of development projects to the area.
Ukodhiko, however, stressed the need for unity within the party, urging fellow aspirants to close ranks in the interest of victory at the polls.
“Elections come and go, but our collective interest and the progress of our constituency remain paramount. I urge us all to unite as one family,” he added.
He emphasised that unity and reconciliation remained critical to the party’s chances in the forthcoming general elections.
